Can a DSN or doctor realy tell you are type2 just by looking at your bg numbers, the reason i ask is that the very first DSN i had said she could tell i was type2 by my numbers.

I would imagine it would depend on what your numbers are.

If they were up after eating, then went down a bit, and repeated the pattern, then you're not likely to be T1 because you still have some insulin working, but you could, presumably be a T1.5 or LADA (I think!).🙂

I would say they could tell whether you had diabetes or not if the numbers they saw were outside non-diabetic range, but would probably be making assumptions about you in order to suggest what type you were, like age, weight etc.

Its realy confusing, the DSN said this to me when they put me on the byetta last year and basicly my numbers where high.

I'm not sure, I saw the practice nurse at the doctors surgery Monday evening. Even with my records in front of her she still had to ask when I had my last blood tests and if I was type 1 or type 2.
