On Sunday, December 23, 2012, Doug Masiuk (38) will be the first Type 1 diabetic to complete a run across the United States. With friends and followers in tow, he'll be making his final strides on Sunday, at 1:30 pm EST through Brooklyn, NY to put his foot in the Atlantic. He'll complete the 3,350-mile journey at the end of 19th Street at water's edge next to the pier in Coney Island. The public and media are invited to run with Doug as well as attend a celebration and reception immediately following at the YMCA, 30 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11217.
