Relationship to Diabetes
Type 3c
Was diagnosed with type 3c dibetes over year ago from chronic pancreatitis got test my self 8 times a day or more and 4 infections a day. It totally wears me down am in recovery from alcoholism year and half clean just moved back to Scotland and they not started funding for sensor machine yet feel conned spend 203 pounds for starter kit and 129 a month subscription for 12 months fact is I need it as my bloods go from very low to very high if am out walking drop so fast so having machine am better of if I worked yea great but on disability benefits totally wiped my account paying for the sensor past few months been in hospital loads with my pancreatitis and dibetes feels like onething after another and it doesn't stop sorry rant over
 
Hi Frazer. It’s really bad that you can’t get the sensor on prescription. I think you would really benefit. I was self funding mine for a while and it’s very expensive, luckily I have now got it on prescription. Sounds like you have been through some struggles. I know you posted this a while ago now, but I hope your feeling a little better. It’s not easy especially with 3c as it’s not common. I’m also not your typical case and I think it makes it so much harder. Sounds like you have got a bit of burnout but congratulations for staying sober. If you can do that you can get on top of this. Can you not get the Libre on prescription rather than the Dexcom?
 
Sorry to hear that you are finding things so tough.

I know that the clinic in Edinburgh was one of the pioneering ones for Libre on prescription, with great results.

Do you get seen at a hospital clinic? I guess it would depend if the consultant that you see feels that the mandatory national guidance about Libre access for a proportion of T1s applies to you as a T3c?
