Hi trev, and welcome to the forum.Have a read of this, posted by one of our members, @eggyg, who had similar problems getting a correct diagnosis.

Hi Trev, welcome to the forum. I think the problem is, in my case, the GPs and nurses in my practice just didn’t have the expertise. I don’t think they had even heard of it. It was only through educating myself that I discovered Type 3c and pushed to be seen at the diabetes clinic, where they had heard of it. If you’ve seen endocrinologists, attended diabetes specialist clinics etc, well that’s bad. I can understand your anger and frustration, I felt I’ve had to fight it every step of the way and have been let down at times but I’m still here to tell the tale. Now you’re on insulin you will soon start to feel a lot better and your numbers will improve. Have they offered you an educational course to help carb count, adjust doses, manage hypos etc? If not push for this and don’t take no for an answer. There’s lots on the forums about Type 3c including the NICE guidelines. Use the search facility at the top of the page. Familiarise yourself with them and ask any questions and we’ll try to help. Elaine.
