Type 3c
Hi all.

I'm hoping to get some advise and support to manage my diabetes more.

I had acute pancreatitis in 2014/15 secondary to gallstones. I had my gallbladder removed but the pancreatitis continued. I had a large pancreatic psyedocyst that ruptured my spleen. They embolism it to stop the bleed. The cyst became infected and made me really poorly. July 2015 the surgically drained the cyst and connected it to my bowel. I have around half the pancreas left. I also needed bowel surgery 2015 after the connection between the cyst and bowel twisted.

Feb 2018 I was diagnosed with type 3c diabetes, they tried oral medicine but didn't help. I'm now using insulin. Teujeo long acting and novarapid short acting.

I've been taking creon since 2015 but really don't get on with it. I get upset tummy and pain without it but constipation and pain with it?!

I have regular B12 injection tools and extra vitamin supplements daily. I've noticed my blood sugars are alot more stable when I take my creon

Hi @GalliGirl and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have been "through it" over the last few years.

As a T2 the things you have been through are well beyond my experiences, but we have an increasing band of 3C members and I am sure some will be along soon to swap notes and share their thoughts.

Welcome to the forum @GalliGirl

Sorry to hear about the difficulties you are having with managing your diabetes.
I am going to tag @eggyg who is well versed in Type 3c and juggling with Creon.

Keep in touch and keep the questions coming. There is plenty of experience to tap into on here.

The reason your bloods are more stable when taking Creon is because you are absorbing the food/nutrients as your body intended.
Have you tried experimenting with the amount of Creon you take?
Another suggestion, have you spoken to your gastric team? Also are there certain foods/types that make you feel more unwell?

PS welcome to the forum.

Sorry you’ve been having a tough time of things. Hope the support and encouragement of the forum are helpful to you.

Hi, I'm just over 2 months into a 3c diagnosis after repeated bouts of acute pancreatitis. I am still relatively clueless however, but just letting you know I'm here with the same thing
