NoWell only where diabetes and Alzheimers co- exist - have you got Alzheimers?
What's the difference between Alz and senile dementia?Well FWIW I've never heard that having D makes anyone more likely to get A - plus people will often say that someone has A, when really the poor old bugger has got senile dementia - perhaps they feel a bit ashamed to call the spade a shovel in 'polait' company in this case?
My mom had the senile sort - we knew 100% she had, having been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and going in for her operation when she told me and my sister that Miss T (the gynae, married for donkeys years but still trading under her first name LOL) had removed her womb, cleaned it out and replaced it - when she'd had a total hysterectomy and bilateral oopherectomy - ie everything whipped out and incinerated. We did tell the gynae this, to no avail - so people like the butcher had to continue to be loudly castigated for being closed 'yesterday' in a shop full of customers when yesterday was a Bank Holiday Monday, and suchlike, for quite a while after that.
So perhaps I'll go the same way? I don't know - nobody does. But a relly of my husband got early onset A - he's still cared for at home, but it's by no means the same, or the best place for him or his wife, as time goes on.
There are quite a few replies on the other thread.ISTR I said that to you yesterday.
