Hi all my name is Robert and I have been diagnosed for near 2 years now. I am finding the tablets not working and I have been taking Lyuxumia injections for a few months also.

Last bloods I took were 19 and I am feeling terrible, with bad tiredness and some stomach.

Dr refuses to put me on insulin and would like to try another tablet. I am reluctant to do this and would rather go on insulin.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Hi and welcome to the forum.

I really don't think there is anyone here who knows you well enough or is qualified to decide whether you should be taking more tablets or insulin.

Tell us a bit about yourself the type of meals you have, your HBA1c and your meter readings. Do you take any tablets for high blood pressure, cholesterol or any other illnesses? We may be able to help you with food choices to bring your levels down.

I agree with cherrypie. Switching to insulin is a big step, and one needs to take into account what meds you have tried, what other meds you are taking and are they causing any problems, plus any individual factors.
 
Hi Dazarr have you tried getting your blood sugar down by exersize ? When i was a kid & blood sugar (Urine test) was high after tea i used to run around the field near me for more than a mile, Job sorted. Good luck 🙂
 
I guess the question is why your GP refuses to put you on insulin?

Ask them why they think the tablets are the route to go.

If they cannot answer these basic questions, then request a different GP.

I think that they should always be able to keep you informed as to why treatment is following a certain path.

Anyway, I hope whatever treatment you get starts working soon.

Insulin

Hi Sorry not been on for a while been ill for a bit.

But now on insulin and seems to be working great with the slight blip of lately when I had a cold. the heat also seems to be affecting it.
 
Hi Dazarr, I hope you are fully recovered from your illness now 🙂 Illness can raise blood sugar levels in some people, so often doses of insulin need to be increased. Conversely, a lot of people find they need less insulin in hot weather, as the insulin tends to be absorbed more quickly. Good to hear that the insulin is working well for you otherwise! 🙂
 
Seems to be just getting it back down now as was anything from 4-7 now up at 16
