Type 2

Hi welcome @Taramal77. Sad to hear you've been diagnosed but this is a great site and forum for information, advice and support on how to manage your condition. The LearningZone link provides access to good information on the risk, management approaches and what to expect from your GP Surgery in terms of the condition. The people in the forum will happily answer your questions around managing everything to do with diabetes.
If you feel comfortable, information such your HbA1c level, and whether you are on medication will help them to tailor their responses to better meet your needs. However, only share what you are comfortable for other people to know.

I was diagnosed last year and have found this a great source of information and based on that have achieved a stable management level with regards to my BG levels and HbA1c level.

Welcome to the forum @Taramal77

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis :(

Had you been feeling off-colour for a while and did you go to the GP to get checked? Or did you find out through a routine screening / medical / wellness check?

Any T2 in your close family?

Were you told the result of the HbA1c check that confirmed your diagnosis? This will be a number above 47mmol/mol, but knowing your starting point can be really helpful in developing a plan
