Hi I was diagnosed as T2 approx 2 years ago but to be honest I did not really take it in or any of the issues relating to it as they were not concerned. I proceeded to gain weight - 15stone 10lbs at 5 foot 1 inch. Anyway it was only about 9 months ago a brilliant nurse told me the whole 'story'. I was very shocked and upset that I did not understand the seriousness of it. (possibly not dealing with the issue) Anyway my HBc1 was 97 she wanted to put me on tablets and I said no please let me try, she did and it came down. She then felt it would not come down much more, discussing resistance etc. I really wanted to give it another go and this was over the Christmas period , when I went for my 3 month review I am down to 49.(I know this is still diabetic) She was very pleased (me too) and I have lost three and a half stone in the process. So I have skipped the tablets for now ! I will continue with the Michael Mosley diet as it is definitely working for me.
