I am new to diabetes UK, and I have so many chronic illnesses beside diabetes type 2,I first want to say thanks to everyone and hopefully learning more will let me help others who struggle with their diabetes daily.i first was diagnosed with type 2 around 10 years ago after a finger was amputated due to infection I was given insulin when I was home but I was still clueless about everything to do with this condition.,I had been housebound for several years due to many physical disabilities and mental health issues so I never was able to learn at clinic, having no family or friends and I tried searching for support.i have a longer story to tell but I just want to say Hi and God Bless you all. Thanks lots of love and light Gillxxx

HI, and welcome. Sorry to hear that you have so much to deal with on top of your diabetes. I can't begin to imagine how tough it is. At least by joining us here you're now in the right place for getting any advice and support that you feel you need, and it's from members managing their diabetes day-by-day and often having to cope with other health conditions too.

Welcome to the forum @samara69

It can be so tough having to balance the needs of multiple health conditions, and doubly tough if some of those are mental health conditions as they can make it so much harder to achieve the self care you know you need.

But you aren’t alone. We have many members here who are juggling the competing needs and requirements of overlapping and conflicting health challenges.

So glad you have found us! I hope you will find the forum to be an encouraging and supportive place - and somewhere that you can offer support to others as well as pick up tips and hunts for yourself.

Type 3c diabetes is a form of diabetes which relates to damage to the pancreas which is not auto-immune in nature - so things like pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, pancreatic surgery and so on. It usually involves treatment with insulin because the pancreas can no longer make enough, and supplementary digestive enzymes like Creon.

There’s an overview page here
