Hi all and hope everyone is doing ok with things the way they are at the moment.
Anyway a liitle about myself as a newbie; I was diagnosed around 5 years ago with type 2 and it was a shock to say the least!
How is everyone who is furloughed like me and finding it tough with no daily routine of going to work?
I find the hardest thing is to eat right. I'm self isolated under GP instruction, live alone in a small village, and get a Pensioners Box every 3 weeks. No choice - you get what you are given - I am grateful for it as I still can't get a supermarket online spot. So my diet has not been as good as it should have been. The other thing is boredom. There is only so much cleaning, gardening, paperwork, music, books, and DVD's. I used to be out up to 5 mornings a week in the swimming pool and meeting for coffee after.
That is so true and very easy to eat junk in front of the tv all day. I also live alone in a very small village and it can feel very isolated at the best of times. Boredom is a big factor and keeping busy gets rather difficult after a week(or 4!) of furlough and all day to kill. I can at least go shopping as i have a car and a Lidl down the road, but some social contact would be good right now.

The current circumstances are indeed having an impact on many.
I am not furloughed as I am already retired, however I found that I needed a structure to my day and needed to know one thing I was going to get done the next day, before I went to bed. My OH is a lot happier to go with the flow more. We have each found our way to manage.
With regard to my Diabetes I have found that it does not always behave and for no apparent reason.
I am just doing things as well as I can.
Hi @Eddcatt welcome to the forum boring ain`t it. Oh no not the forum the lock down😱😳 which doesn't exist in England, like @SB2015 I am also retired but I live right on the beach were all the people are social distancing, that last statement is a total lie. Difficult as it is your main concern is your own health and your control of your Diabetes the Big D the forum is here 24/7 so if you have a question spit it out nowt silly on here.
Hi Karnak.
I do appreciate having others in the same situation and we all need to find a way of coping that works for us at the end of the day. Being off work is hard as i live on my own and keepng myself occupied is what keeps me from going mad and mental health is a very important thing to maintain at any time, and especially now.
