Hi Northerner,
Thanks for the welcome.
My levels dropped before Christmas (dropped for me anyway), at times down to 3.6, although not frequent. I put it down to a change in diet as I was diagnosed with gallstones so really cut down on fatty things big time.
My metformin was lowered from x4 to x3 tablets per day (500mg each) and all was going well, with the exception of some background retinopathy.
Fast forward to this weekend, and just before lunch I felt dreadful, floppy, ears ringing, shaky etc (havent really experienced this to this extent before). Tested my blood which came up as 3.3 which went up after jelly sweets and a few carbs. I'd had usual breakfast about 3 hrs prior to this happening.
I think it has just scared me more than anything. Going for a blood test on Monday as practice nurse wants to check its not my meds being too high, I think.
Since the weekend, things have been normal and good in terms of blood testing levels so practice nurse thinks it may be a 'blip'.
