Have mentioned before that I had a few hypo's in the 3's so upped my slow carbs and it all seemed to settle down. Mentioned it to the Dr and apparently no need to worry, provided I can recognise what is happening.

Started dinner today and felt a very strong one coming on so had a couple of jelly babies and took a reading which was 2.9!!!!!. That scared me a bit as dont know why they are happening, plus any more increase in carbs means weight gain I fear.

Total carbs is about 80 to 100g now, which I thought would be ok, so any advice most welcome (as usual)🙂

How long have you been on that amount of carb and have you lost weight?

Just thinking if you've lost weight and reduced your Insulin Resistance, if your body has been in the habit of over-producing insulin for some time, perhaps it takes some time to re-educate it?

And then if you've reduced your carbs more that would = hypos?

Dunno !

What medication are you on? Things like gliclizide encourages the production f insulin and might also be the cuase of the hypos.

Just an idea, keep a record of what you eat, what medications you are on and the ammount of activity you have ben doing and see if it falls into a pattern. You can then make adjustements.

Yes, sounds logical. been on that level of carbs for some months now and lost 3 stone. I have noticed that I am not so sensitive to carbs as I was, so insulin resistence has improved.

Could understand it if medication involved but not on any for Diabetes.

Hello Slipper,

Just wondered if you are stressed over anything at present of if you are unwell at all as that can contribute?

Hope you are ok now though and well done for the great weight loss x

Thanks Saz, thats interesting, as yes, some stress with family prob., at present, but thought if anything, readings may go up.

Bit of meditation called for perhaps.
