Hi all,

I hope you are all keeping well.

I've been recruiting forum members for a Type 2 Diabetes study over the last few months. This study has been approved by the forum. However, in light of recent changes with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are changing the way we recruit patients for the study as we can no longer complete face-to-face data collection. We will therefore be aiming to recruit participants primarily from the forums to take part. This includes the allocation of funding for participation with a £10 online gift voucher for retailers including Waitrose/Sainsburys/Argos. Those who have already taken part in the study will also be provided with a gift voucher for their participation so that everyone has been included equally.

To be eligible, you must have Type 2 Diabetes and have been taking at least one medicine for your Type 2 Diabetes for a minimum of 6 months. If you're interested, please email me at joshua.wells@kingston.ac.uk for more information.

Hi all,

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the members that have been contacting me about taking part in the study. It has been lovely chatting to you all either by email or phone and hearing a bit more about living with Type 2 Diabetes, especially in this current climate with COVID-19. We have seen a big increase in participation, which is fantastic, but we'd love to do more!

If you are someone living with Type 2 Diabetes, or know someone who is, and might be interested in taking part in our study, then please email me on joshua.wells@kingston.ac.uk

The study involves completing an online questionnaire that evaluates the types of behaviour that affect the way people living with Type 2 DIabetes take their medicines. The questionnaire takes roughly 10-15 minutes to complete on average. All we need beforehand is your consent to participate and some information about the use of diabetes medicines over the last 6 months. That's it! Following the completion of the survey, you'll receive a £10 e-voucher to an email of your choice. All we ask is that you have been taking medicines for Type 2 Diabetes for at least 6 months. This study can also be completed over the phone.

Thank you all again for the amazing support you've provided during this time. Please get in touch to take part or for additional information, we'd love to have as many participants as possible!
