Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I had my flu jab last month and then my husband went to the Netherlands on business and has brought back what I think must be a different flu strain so I am well into it now. It's the first time I've had flu since diagnosis (Type II) in 2006 so I'm just a bit worried - should I be?! My temperature has been up to 39.1 but is controlled by paracetamol, etc. I've been advised this year to stop testing my own blood sugars - cause anxiety, etc, etc, and I am sure that my sugars are up but can, and, should I do anything about it? I'm currently taking gliciazide to control the diabetes. Happy days! Thanks for any thoughts . . .

the advice I've always had is that your levels are likely to be higher, test more regularly and correct if necessary so not sure what advice there is if you're not testing/on insulin. There was a thread a few days ago about what to do when ill so it could be worth looking back through to see what's in there.
Sorry, that probably doesn't boil down to an awful lot of help!!
