Hi my husbandwho has type one has a patch about palm size on his foot which is red hot to touch and slightly raised/swollen. Has anyone had this or know what it is.
Thanks for reading

Hi Gemma, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your husband's foot - is it something that has appeared recently? I would call NHS 111 for advice if so, otherwise he needs to see the GP as it sounds as though it needs investigation. I was always told to report any problems with my feet immediately.

Been diagnosed a year yes it is under control - that's what he tells me anyway. Thank you I will go through the checker with him thanks for your reply.

Hope you can find out what it is and get it treated quickly and easily! 🙂 Let us know how things go.

Hi Gemmah just wanted to agree with what Alan has said and to send you positive thoughts and best wishes for this to get sorted quickly.

err, could it be blood poisoning? - sounds a bit like it to me!

He has decided to wait and see how bad it is in the morning. Will look up blood poisoning symptoms Thank you

Had other thoughts, does it throb, is it a bit shiny looking? - cos that might be an abscess if it does. Both need antibiotics pretty soon if either.

Dr given anti biotic got go back if keeps growing, thought be useful if happens anyone else. Thanks

Hi Gemma that is useful to know. Thank you for posting. I hope that the antibiotics work.

Thanks Gemma, I hope the antibios do the trick. Do be careful though and make him go back if there is no improvement! 🙂

Gemma do remind hubby that his levels will be raised due to the infection and that he may need to check more frequently.

Sounds a bit like cellulitis - but anyway I'm glad he has seen the doctor and got the antibiotics, hope all goes well from now on.x
