No in theory you don’t have to limit your carbs, you just match the carbs to the insulin dose but don’t have to have an upper limit. However, we do find that blood sugars tend to behave themselves much better if you don’t go crazy on the carbs! I.e. more carbs can mean bigger BG swings and of course it means bigger insulin doses. Yes you can also become overweight from eating too much of anything but that’s nothing to do with diabetes.
 
Yes I carb count to calculate my Humalog
Well that would be a no then, within reason of course, roast potatoes are my downfall but they are a weekly treat, they would mess with my insulin doses too much if I eat them every day
