Hi

My name is Donna, I'm a Type 1 diabetic, diagnosed at 12 months old. I'm now 34.

I've recently been advised to go on an insulin pump. I've not really wanted to go on one till now, but I think it's the best option to take. Lantus and Novorapid MDI just isn't doing its job anymore and regardless of how much effort I am putting into keeping my control, the diabetes has other ideas. I'm also a confirmed sufferer of Glycosuria or more commonly known Brittle Diabetic.

Having a few issues today after getting such great advice yesterday from Input and Animas, my DSN was meant to be contacting me this morning. This morning has 20 minutes left and I doubt I'm going to get a call today which means a weekend without information. *sighs* Sometimes I really wish I had a team that I could contact easier.

Hope to not be too much of a pain 😱

Welcome to the forum.............

You must be looking forward to the pump, it should make life with the 'brittle' condition much easier.........

:D

Hi Donna, welcome to the forum 🙂 I know how it feels when you are finding it difficult to get in touch with your DSN - hope she/he calls in the next eleven minutes!

We have lots of pumpers here, both experienced and new-to-pumping so I'm sure that you'll find lots to talk about. Your experiences over the past 33 years will also be of benefit I'm sure, so feel free to pitch in whenever you want. I look forward to hearing more from you. 🙂

Thanks guys, I'm kicking myself because I just finished a long post about the problems I have at the minute with my "Care Team" and the darn forum logged me out... no saved post.... 😱

Someone ply me with valium and put me in a darkened room? Please? I'll be most grateful...

Starts the story again...

Just for info purposes.... No DSN call... surprise so bloomin' surprise! *rolls eyes, slaps forehead and goes back to writing*

Click on the box by the log in that says 'remember me/stay logged in' (or something, can't see it because I'm logged in!) then you shouldn't get timed out 🙂

Welcome to the forums Donna 🙂

Thanks Northerner, I found that after the event 😱 All posted up this time though.

Thanks for the warm welcome Mark.

Hi Donna and welcome aboard. I just posted on your other thread but wanted to welcome you properly on here. 🙂 XXXXX

Thank you!

Hi Donna. Welcome 🙂

It does sound like the pump could be your saviour. I suspect they will get us all eventually, funding permitting. 🙄
