Hello everyone, I am a type 1 diabetes patient from China. In China, intensive insulin therapy is also used for the treatment of type 1 diabetes, and many people have adopted mixed insulin infusion system, such as Medtronic 722+loop, or Omnipod+Loop, and some use Danner R+Loop. However, there is not much understanding and learning about the hybrid infusion system. I hope to learn excellent hybrid closed-loop infusion technology with my friends in the UK here. Attach my blood sugar

Welcome to the forum.

Your graph show a rise and then your remaining at a high level. It would help us if you could tell us a bit more about how you currently manage your T1. I do not recognise which pump you are using from the graph. Which insulin are you using?

Looping can certainly help us to increase the time in range and help to manage the variations in our days more effectively. Do you have any specific questions about the HCL systems?

You mention a Medtronic pump which a I have not heard of. Here the Medtronic pump we use for looping is the 780G which works with their sensors. There are others on here who use the Omnipod and Dana pumps.

Are you using a DIY loop @Tangren (A non-official loop) ? What CGM sensor are you using to monitor your blood glucose?

您是否正在使用 DIY 循环 @Tangren(非官方循环)?您使用什么 CGM 传感器来监测血糖?
hello,I'm using a Chinese product called the GuiJi, which doesn't seem to be as accurate as the Dexcom, but it's cheaper.I'm using a DIY Loop to control my blood sugar. I'm using loop

Thank you for your concern and reply. In my opinion, the first prerequisite for controlling blood sugar is happiness. Only when I don't take sugar control as a burden can I control sugar well. Therefore, the high blood sugar level today is not a manifestation of my regular blood sugar level. To avoid hypoglycemia during exercise. I use Medtronic 722 insulin pump +Loop closed-loop, which is very practical and convenient for me. Many people in China use this insulin pump. Although this pump has been discontinued for a long time, its quality is stable, and the Loop closed-loop can help many parents of type 1 diabetes children realize remote sugar control. This is much more convenient than a 780G or T pumptir.jpg

In China, a new type 1 diabetes is often accompanied by ketoacidosis, and it is easy to enter the ICU for rescue and hospitalization. During the hospitalization, the doctor will tell him that he needs lifelong insulin treatment. Some patients will choose insulin pen and some will choose insulin pump, but no matter what kind of infusion method is used, blood sugar control is often poor. The doctor prescribed three doses of fast-acting aspartame and one shot of long-acting insulin glargine a day, but the patient continued to use the same dose regimen even when his diet changed, and it was clear that this approach was causing low blood sugar in the patient. It often takes a long time for Chinese diabetics to learn a certain degree of diabetes self-management, to know the relationship between insulin and food matching, and to know how to avoid hypoglycemia, because there is no teaching. I wonder who is responsible for educating patients about diabetes in the UK?微信截图_20240427221656.jpg

In the U.K. we have Diabetes Specialist Nurses and a Consultant (specialist doctor) who look after Type 1s. Diabetes U.K. also produce educational information on the website. This forum is very helpful to Type 1s too, whether they’re newly diagnosed or have had it many years.

There are some people using DIY loops in the U.K. They usually use a Dexcom sensor, I believe.

There are also structured intensive education courses run through the NHS for Type 1 diabetics. DAFNE (Dose Adjustment for Normal Eating) is considered the gold standard, but there are other regional versions plus the BERT1E online course.
