Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
I have been type 1 since August 1974. Have always kept myself lowish and have kept all my bits, eyes good, kidneys good, feet good. Infact I’m glad to say I feel just normal as a diabetic. At the moment I am trying for a pump and am going through the hospital process of getting one. I know it’s not easy, but I have travelled around the world on holidays and work. Had a few ups and downs but still here and not at all depressed. I was told when I became a diabetic, it does not control you, you have to constantly learn and you will be able to lead a life to the full. Which I do. I really love the Freestyle Libre , it has made things so easy for me and my family. Best invention so far. But never forget it is a 24/7 existence, but then so is life.

Hi Jeff, welcome to the forum 🙂 Good to hear that you have managed things well over the years and have not let it get in the way of doing the things you enjoy 🙂

Hello and welcome Jeff, glad you've joined us 🙂

I hope the pump process is not too drawn out for you and a whole new world of temporary basal rates and cannula changes will soon be yours 🙂
