MORE than four in every 100 people in Scotland suffer from diabetes and the number is expected to increase by 10,000 every year. The majority of them - 88 per cent - have Type 2 diabetes, which you are more likely to develop if you are overweight and don't take regular exercise.
Type 1 diabetes is not liked to diet and exercise and medics say those 28,000 Scots with the condition could have done nothing to prevent it.
Here we speak to two diabetes sufferers - one who admits her diet was partly to blame, the other who's fed up with people making wrong assumptions about her lifestyle.
