ITV's 'Tonight' will be showing two programmes on 'Giving Up Sugar For Good?', on Thursday 29/04/21 at 19-30 and Friday 30/04/21 at 20-00
They will be presented by former MP Tom Watson, who you might remember was in the news a while ago after losing a lot of weight

Other than that I don't know much about it, but I intend watching them

I might watch too, however, how can you give up sugar totally? Some things we buy, even after reading the nutrition has sugar?

Well you can't give up sugar totally as there will always be naturally occurring sugars; all you can do is stop eating food that has added sugar, and be careful about food containing naturally occurring sugars

I don't know what the programme will be like, but I would think it means cutting out added sugar in -
tea & coffee & other home prepared food
other food you buy that contains added sugar
some fruit etc that has high levels of naturally occurring sugar

I wouldn't be surprised if it also covers sugar added to manufactured & processed food

We'll just have to wait & see

I was going to claim that I don't eat sugar - but then thought about the Branston Pickle - I am pretty sure that has sugar in it - but other than that and the berries I have occasionally I don't think there is any other sugar in my diet.
It is rather a forlorn hope that giving up sugar will be a good thing if you are following that dire advice to have cereal or wholemeal toast for breakfast etc.
