Just wondering if anyone has come across the 2 following scenarios:
1. Having changed the cartridge the Fill Tubing option does not fill through to the pin of the trusteel canula? It was filling to the connection between tube 1 and tube 2 but no further. Reported this and using supplies from a new box resolved the issue.
2. Couple of weeks later (and this has now occurred for 3 successive Cartridge changes) the first bolus after the cartridge change seems to be failing. On each of the 3 days my blood sugars have reached 18 plus and only started to fall back after 2 or 3 additional manual boluses. I am using Control IQ and would have expected the CIQ adjustments to have stopped the BS rise before i noticed....Note on each of the days between the cartridge changes I have had great BS levels.

Is this a sign that the pump is no longer working to optimum efficiency?

I’ve not had that experience, and i don‘t use tru steel so can’t help there I’m afraid :(

Do you usually time your set changes to be before a meal? The only slightly weird happening I had with a Tandem set change was where I snuck one in outside of my normal pattern and I didn’t really push a proper bolus through it early on. Certainly not as dramatic as 18 though

I can’t remember where I came across the image (possibly Pumping Insulin??), but someone somewhere suggested that a new infusion site needed to develop a sort of ‘pocket’ under the skin for the insulin to absorb from.

I have found CIQ not really up to adjusting to mealtime errors for me though. I think it’s a little cautious, and expects the extra smidges of basal (and mini boluses) to act faster than they are likely to for me.

It has been brilliant at overnight though, and at correcting more gentle drifts.

Stickler for routine. Breakfast, shower, change pump, 3 - 4 hours later lunch. I had thought that perhaps i'd hit an over used site but the odds on hitting 3 in a row are slim, although after 9 years and restricted surface area on the stomach (due to operation scar) it could be a possibility. Have never liked using other sites.

Well it’s odd that it has suddenly changed if that’s what you’ve always done) but where I have not had a meal straight after a set change I have seen more unpredictable results.

Diabetes does like to change the rules periodically, of course... worth trying bolus-after-set-change for a few to see of it makes any difference?
