Prior to upgrading my tslim to control IQ i had an exercise profile set which reduced Basal by around 50% from my standard day to day profile. Now that i have IQ loaded can i rely on just starting the exercise activity and let IQ manage the Basal or should I also change to my exercise profile and (i guess) have control IQ base its calculations on the lower required Basal? Just concerned that when my BS drops during exercise it will drop quicker than control IQ can recognise.

Sorry can’t help, we haven’t got the sensors yet so aren’t even running Basal IQ :(
(Fingers crossed we might get them very soon!)

HI @martindt1606

Can‘t answer the question I’m afraid and don’t think many on here are using this pump yet, but just tagging @Sally71 and @everydayupsanddowns as I think they both are and might be able to help.
Hi Lucy guess it will be trial and error. First walk not unexpectedly resulted in a low 3 BS. Extra unbolussed carbs before (and possibly during) next time.

I‘ve certainly seen it mentioned as a tactic - having an exercise basal profile. Control IQ bases it’s adjustments off the active profile (one of the things I like about the idea of it, because it gives some tweakability options!) so having a reduced basal pattern would effectively allow you to set a tbr (which control IQ doesn’t allow)

I‘ve only switched over to Control IQ today, so will try to have a week of sitting on my hands and seeing how it does on its own before I start fiddling.

Exercise setting has worked reasonably well so far!

Ooh please let us know how it goes @everydayupsanddowns - we got set up with sensors yesterday so are now using Basal IQ, it has been very interesting so far! DSN said we should just get used to this for a month before we start the Control IQ training. I'm happy with that as we’ve never had anything like this before and it's all new and exciting!
