Anyone use Truvia? I've just tried this for the first time. Not bad, it certainly tastes better than any of the other sweeteners I've tried in the past and doesn't seem to have the same nasty after taste the others do. I overdid it though, I put about half a teaspoonful in my monthly coffee and it tastes like two teaspoons of full sugar, too much for me. I've got used to tea with no sweeteners but can't quite get by without it in coffee, I reckon this may be the answer. Now, if I can just wean myself onto decaf.

I tried it but just couldn't get the amount right in coffee, if I was having sugar I'd have half a teaspoon but half a teaspoon of truvia was too much. Used it in a banana bread though and it was fine (but I'm a guesser when baking so I just a half tablespoon because the sultana and banana are sweet). Certainly better than other sweeteners in terms of after taste though.

I use it when I stew Bramley apples and rhubarb. They say that it is 3 times sweeter than sugar, but I think from experience that it is about 4 times. Don't bake anymore so don't know about that. Have not tried it in drinks either. 🙂

I've worked out by trial and error that a 1/4 teaspoon in my big half litre mug is plenty.
