I am taking over twenty units of Trurapi a day, just wondered if that's okay, I'm also taking eighteen Lantus at night and my numbers are still over ten in the morning. I'm starting to re think my meals during the day to no carb meals. Can anyone help with recommendations please.

Going no carb can make you more insulin resistant and so could make things worse so be careful. Also protein coverts to sugar when you don't have enough carbs and that's much trickier to calculate. Your body needs what it needs. A lot of people find about 130 carbs a day the sweet spot.

I'm type 1 but take about the same amount as you, which is by no means a high dose. if you need more, take more. It's not a reflection of your management. This condition is hard enough, please be kind to yourself.

That doesn’t sound a massive amount @Marjorie It works out at an average of less than 7 units per meal. Some people take much more. If your blood sugar is over 10 in the morning, it might be that you need more Lantus. What time of day do you take the Lantus?

How many carbs do you have for your meals? If the Trurapi is allowing you to eat proper healthy meals then I’d just leave it. It’s a perfectly reasonable amount to take.
