Former US President Donald Trump is being charged with a crime in relation to a payment he made to a porn star.


The man who spent four years in the White House is now days away from being fingerprinted, given a mugshot photo and brought before a judge.


This is happening as he campaigns to become president again, in the 2024 election.

Oddly it’s likely to boost his popularity amongst his core supporters at the same time as making the Republican Party wary of nominating him for 2024.

A long shot, but maybe she'll have the opportunity to take the stand & testify about DJT's physical peculiarities.

Apparently Stormy is on the prosecution's dance card to testify, but the trial won't start before December.

I'm not sure exactly how DJT's special physical characteristics would get to be relevant for her testimony, but a decent prosecutor should be able to figure that out. Hopefully backed up by expert witnesses and detailed imaging.
 
Paying someone to keep quiet about an affair is not a crime, as Trump’s lawyers constantly repeat. The criminal action was in passing off the payments as legitimate legal expenses for tax purposes.

Even if he is found guilty of that it is likely to end up with a fine. The big problems for Trump is the other legal cases against him, with the charge that he attempted to interfere with the vote counting in Georgia, that he encouraged the arrack on the Capitol on Jan 6, and his handling of Top Secret files at his home in Florida.

It strikes me that this current case isn’t being heard till December is to tie in with all these other cases happening while he is attempting to get the Republican nomination for the President election,

Yes, as I understand it it's misleading the tax authorities. With the extra weirdness that the result was that more tax was paid rather than less.

Maybe not, put paying someone hush money proves you are as quilty as everyone thinks you are.

Classic example are Prince Andrew & Michael Jackson, Jackson payed off that boys parents to keep quiet so it didn't end up in court.

I have to admit, to wondering about the “moral compass” regarding those who accept a “pay off?”

Don’t get me wrong. What I’ve seen (his covid advice?) the guy is a fool. The “UV light” he got the wrong end of the spectrum. From what I made of his incoherent ramble, (where is chief scientist squirmed.) he was basically on about this? https://news.mit.edu/2019/storing-vaccine-history-skin-1218
