With 5 days in France coming up I am wondering how people cope, what with baguettes and croissants etc. What does one eat there to keep carbs at bay?

I worry more about how to keep the butter, cheese, pate, and wine at bay!

Just don't buy the bread in the first place.

Well you will all be happy to hear that I survived. Kept checking my BG before and after breakfast and most main meals and was happy to find that, apart from one breakfast (when I overdid the bagguettes and pain au chocolat) when I spiked at 15.4, generally I managed to keep the BG more or less on track. We had a good time and it's now time to buckle down and eat sensibly for a while to keep my average going downwards. 14 day average after eating in France 9.4 so need to be good for the next few weeks.
