Veteran NHS and pensioners' rights campaigner Wilf Corbett has died, just a few weeks after celebrating his 87th birthday.
Wilf died at Langdale View Nursing home, in Gipsy Lane, Leicester, on Tuesday, with son Jeffrey at his bedside.
For decades, Mr Corbett was a determined campaigner, taking part in many protest marches in support of the NHS, bus services and pensioners' rights.
As a former RAF wartime serviceman, he also collected for the Wings charity, the Poppy Appeal and the blind.
