So its almost a month since diagnosis. Once a week I go into the office at college to work with colleagues as since covid we work from home and do most lectures and 1-1s online. So we like to go for coffee break together and are lucky to have our own discounted Costa on campus. I decided to have a medium gingerbread latte today which came with a biscuit. First time I have splashed out since diagnosed. I wanted to see what reaction my blood glucose would have....couple of hours later....4.2mm! It had been 5.5mm before breakfast. As they days go, I seem to range between 3.9 and 7.1. I am pleased I have lost 9 pound and its come off my middle and I have more energy. Gp appointment this Tue coming. She was intending to increase my metformin...I would doubt she would do that given my results surely....

It sounds as if you are doing well on the dose you are on so she may feel it fine to leave it where it is until your next HbA1C test as that is the best indicator rather than individual readings.

LOL just thinking ahead 6 weeks in Australia for Christmas and New Year, I will be scared to let my hair down! I don't drink alcohol at all so thats one thing not to worry about. But the Christmas and new year meals and going out to dinner as we do over there.....eek. Still on positive side, the fruit and veg are fabulous over there capsicums as big as your head and honey gold mangos a real bright orange colour and calypso mangos bright pink and yellow....oh dear I am drooling...!
