I find the problem with takeaways for me is portion size. There is always a lot more than I usually eat, so I nearly always end up underestimating the amount of insulin needed to cover it.

Have you been taught about correction doses.
sorry I can't remember the name others here will know for sure, their is an app and a book (think it's called "Carbs and cals) that can help you work out the amount of carbs in meals inc meals out. to assist in bolus dosing.
