I was diagnosed withT2 about two months ago. I’m on a huge learning curve, with lots of help and support from members here. I would have been lost without you , as my healthcare team are not up to much!
I got myself a glucose monitor and am trying different foods. I love porridge and fortunately I have found that it doesn’t send my numbers up,at all, even the instant type. I’m around 6 when waking and much the same two hours after eating porridge.
This morning I tried Weetabix. Bad move! I felt shaky and a bit odd an hour later. My numbers had gone up to 9 and my blood pressure shot up too. I hadn’t realised bp would be affected. So the Weetabix are consigned to the bin! (Funny thing is, the birds won’t eat them either).
I am not into bacon or eggs for breakfast, so I think I’ll stick to the porridge. Not a huge meat eater and as I’m trying to lose weight, I don’t want too much cheese either. I’ve been having salads, or thins with cheese or tuna, but getting a bit bored. I don’t cook much either, so veggies aren’t much of a temptation.
Ive lost about ten pounds and determined to go back in three months with lower numbers and a weight loss.
Any comments are welcome
