I'm not on about a cake or chocolate bar here I'm wondering the little strange treats you buy yourself mines has to be a wee pot of double cream for my coffee that I also sup a teaspoon of if I happen to be anywhere near the fridge haha what's everyone elses 🙂 x

Caramelised onion hummus on some nice kerunchy celery.
Or a we drop of Baileys in my coffee

My go-to snacks are currently: nuts, beef jerky, cheese and mini cheddar crackers, pork scratchings, chocologic chocolate, mini flake bars (like 7g carbs per bar!)

Otherwise, I make most things I eat myself. I made a huge batch of caramelised onion chutney before Christmas (just before I was diagnosed) but used a fair bit of sugar in it! I'll have to make more without the sugar soon...

Usually on a saturday lunch i have a fried fish from the Chippy, a big treat.

Salted cashews, instead of my usual Brazils. Can only have them when daughter is at work, because she was ill once after eating them ( probably coincidentally) and can't bear the smell of them now.

Salted cashews for me, but I have to be careful or I would eat the whole bag.

On the weekends perhaps a mini Empanada or two from the local Community Market

Oh don't get me started on cashews I absolutely love them but I have a habit of overdoing it over a few days haha x

I love Brazil's but I can't have them too often these days as they affect my IBS.

Never heard of them so had to google it, they look quite tasty x

Its available in most Tesco supermarkets - the dark chocolate is 2.5g carbs (0.4 sugar) per 4 squares and is nice! The milk chocolate and the one with nuts in are a little more but are both nice.

It is advertised as "90% less sugar" and on the back adds "compared to similar plain chocolate products in the UK market"

Olives, I'd kill for an olive, green, preferably in olive oil, love the little delights, oh that and cherry tomatoes, I love those little blighters too. When I was a kid my mum gave me cherry toms in a bag like sweets, I wouldn't eat sweets and for reasons known only to my mother she thought I'd care if the other kids thought I was weird munching on tomatoes instead of those pink shrimps everyone truffled. I'm not sure if she hadn't noticed my strange dress sense at that stage, but I think the silver tutu with a fluffy jumper and frog wellies would have tipped off the other kids before they noticed the tomatoes :D, never had a problem flaunting my allegiance to a different drummer 😳

I just stick to green & blacks 85% or any flavour as long as I cover it obviously 🙂 x

I hate olives haha, love a cherry tom though, I'm worse than you when I was little I could bite into and eat an onion like a 'normal' person would an apple, I still love onions but not to that extent 🙂 x

Chocolate Eclairs are good - I've seen them with 16g of carbs. When we have cakes at work, that's what I usually grab first. Also, those 'naked' bars, the chocolate orange is my fave. They're like 16g carbs each: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=266255423
Since being diagnosed I've only had one eclair haha I do love them also treated myself to a strawberry and cream finger doughnut with my tea after my DSN appointment last week 🙂 x

Oh that's not so good Grovesy :( you will have to find something that's a bit easier on you good excuse to try stuff 🙂 x
