Treats/Snacks

Unfortunately there isn’t a simple answer @Rosie16

It’s a very tricky and individual thing… as would be the question of which snacks are suitable.

Hopefully some of our T2s will be along with their ideas.

One of the tricky things about snacks can be that they quickly build into a habit, and can escalate to being a whole extra meal’s worth (or more!) of carbs/calories.

I think I remember some members talking about various protein bars? Or things like nuts, olives, carrot sticks, celery and dips etc?

I was a dreadful snack monster pre diagnosis, so I've tried to not have snacks since, as I struggle to stop once I've got started. But saying that, if I still want a snack, I try and distract myself by making a cup of tea instead, but if that fails, I sometimes have a tiny portion of walnuts, or blueberries/raspberries/strawberries/blackberries, or a bit of Greek yogurt, or a low fat babybel cheese.
Some people have the protein KIND bars, or Nature Valley protein bars or Lidl do nutty protein crunch in little packets.
