As I'm getting more used to being diabetic and testing I'm re-introducing foods I consider "occasional treat" to see how they affect me. I would love if others did the same as food reactions are personal we might get some good ideas of what might/might not work.

So today it was Apple pie and extra thick double cream.
BG before (which was 2 hours after my last meal) 5.9
Portion 1/8 of Sainbury's bakery apple pie with two dessert spoons of Sainsbury extra thick double cream.

2 hour post treat - 5.9!

3 hour post treat - 7,2!

I love these tests. Ideally, though, when testing new foods, especially sweet treats, I tend to do a 1, 2 & 3 hour test. Sweet things can enter the blood very quickly, but also fatty things can slow down absorption & may not peak for 3 hours.

Oh I missed 1 hour so I'll test at 3. I was 5.9 at 2 hour mark. Update tested at 3 hours and 7.2!!
