I'm flying off for holiday soon, and I'm wondering whether anyone has had any problems taking their BG monitor and lancets on to the plane with them. My doctor has told me to carry my prescription with me to prove that I need it at least, but I want to know see if it's a nice straightforward thing.

Hi Beck

No problem with test kit and test strips. They do not seem to bat an eyelid with those bits of kit anymore.
Carrying a prescription sounds a good plan. Have a good holiday.

Never had any trouble whatsoever or been asked for my scrip or anything, anywhere I've ever been.

I've never had a problem, at least not in last 15 years.
Some lancets could go in hold luggage, and if you bring back used lancets, they should all go in hold luggage, if you have any, as there's no justification for having them in hand luggage.

Ah, that's a good idea. I bought a small sharps box to take with me, but it'll fit better in my hold luggage anyway.

I'm going on holiday next year and figured I would take my test kit with me but never even thought of having a problem taking it glad to know its no bother
