Hi everyone.

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions for keeping my insulin from freezing when in Norway. My holiday will involve lots of outdoor activities potentially for several hours in -10 degrees. I usually keep my insulin in a normal rucksack, however, I am worried that may not be enough to protect it from the cold. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to protect my insulin from the cold? Are there any specific more insulating cases for insulin pens?

Many thanks for the help 🙂

So long as you're only carrying a pen (or two), keep it in an inside pocket. (Presuming your clothing has such a thing!)

Close to your body, anyway, and inside your insulated clothing.

Put it in a pocket or a running belt if you don’t have an inside pocket

I definitely keep my insulin in an inside pocket, close to body temperature when in cold climes. I have never experienced problems following this approach when outside in sub zero temperature for 5 or 6 hours
However, I would also keep spares in my hotel room just in case.
