Hi All,
I'm looking at taking a trip to Canada next year and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for travel insurance, particularly if you are on insulin.
So far, The Diabetes site has gven me the most expensive quote (around 3 times greater than others I've looked at) and been the most inquisitive about my health.

Alan.

All Clear Travel.co.uk AllClear Travel Insurance offers single and annual medical travel insurance cover for people of all ages who have a chronic pre-existing medical condition such as diabetes.

think you might have to type the address in wont let you click on it direct

Alan,

Diabetes UK has their own travel insurance, not the cheapest, but not too bad. Don't forget though healthcare costs in North America can be very high.

If you have certain accounts with banks, I'm with Natwest then subject to age, other conditions etc they will cover diabetes under their standard cover... same goes if you're booking with a travel agent and they have a special deal going, make the call, you might be covered as standard or for a small premium.

Certainly as has been covered in earlier posts on travel insurance there are some good deals to be had.

Enjoy your trip!

I have recently booked 2 holidays and have gone with the insurance that the travel company offered. I then went online to declare my diabetes. one charged me ?9 extra and the other ?6. Both are cheaper in total than DUK insurance wanted to charge me

I was with Insure & Go, told them about my insulin habit, and they charge me ?16 extra for the year policy, which had about 8 months left to run, so probably not that great but 16 quid didn't feel like a bad hit.

Cheers for the other hints guys/gals I'm gonna make a note of them, for when we next go away (probably many years from now mind!)
