Does anybody know a cheap insurance co to get travel insurance from. I need it to cover Qatar so would probably need worldwide cover.

Thanks

when we went to america it worked out cheaper for us to upgrade our bank account to include travel insurance then to pay a one off fee just for the 2 weeks we were away. the insurace was worldwide and covered pre existing conditions as long as you told them. don't know if thats an option for you, if not, i've used diabetes UK before but only for europe

Thanks for the replies. I will be leaving the arabic to my son Copepod, as he is quite fluent now as he has lived there for over a year. I do know everything is considered to be 'gods will'. That is what they were told when they enquired why it was taking so long to have broadband installed in their new house!

I bought mine last week with Insure & go.... sooo much cheaper than the company DUK endorse.

Hi Hotchop - did you declare you were diabetic - could you pm me how much you paid - I am getting a quote for over ?30 which seems quite expensive.

I declared that I was diabetic on insulin with no hospital admissions and that I am on statins.

The total cost for 7 days in France, on the silver package was only ?34 for the family, 2 adults and 2 children, with only me who needed medical screening.

I tried compare.com who couldnt find anyone that did medical screening and the DUK recomendation wanted ?77 for the same cover.

It was an extra ?9 something to cover the diabetes and high cholestorol.

HTH

Thats strange - they wanted over ?90 from me for 3 adults. I only declared type 2 diabetes not taking insulin. I will try again. I am wondering if it is because I am going to Qatar.

Ahh it could be... Im sure the children were free too which helped.

I was tempted to go without insurance as I have the European card thingy until I found it cheaper but its really not worth going without.

You never know.

I wouldn't ever risk going without - not worth it at all.
Will have another look around today and then book something. Thanks for your help.🙂

Good luck>>🙂

Hi Pazza - jsut tried this and on declaring I had type 2 diabetes quote shot to ?243!! for 3 adults. I will keep trying.
