Hummmmmm - I think this is good generally but am always in two minds about it. GP surgery staff on the whole just don't have the opportunity or time to keep fully abreast of all diabetes happenings. Even with the best will in the world.

Kind of, a little knowledge maybe, being a dangerous thing .......

At the back of my mind too, but I'm guessing that they mean starting Type 2s on basal insulins which is hopefully a bit simpler than basal/bolus carb counting etc. so doesn't need the same level of in depth knowledge.
