which this had been around when our kids were young:

Thanks for that only 8 more sleeps till he comes

I always track on norad on Christmas Eve!

Well of course they hadn't invented such things when I was growing up - and I actually found out that Santa had actually stored the presents in the bottom of my mom's wardrobe until he arrived during the night on Xmas Eve to put them in our pillowcases ready for opening on Xmas morning and no-one knew that curiosity had got the better of me some time ago so I already knew that he was bringing me roller skates one year though I did admit to them all after Xmas that I'd heard dad drop my skates carrying em upstairs when they came up to bed (they were Davis skates, with the ball bearings inside the wheels which you could hear whizzing round smoothly as you skated or just whizzed the wheels round with the skates off your feet. Very pleasing sound!)

Santa is also a ham radio operator and you can speak to him in morse code. Need to get him in the log 🙂

I remember when my son still believed and the ISS was making a visible pass on Christmas Eve and we managed to see it and told him it was Santa. That was fun too :D

Nor I with the technology. I also found out about “Santa’s limitations” at a very early age when one of his “little helpers” crashed on our sofa after a busy day at work the day before forgetting the time. Understandable, they can multitask being on the “nice list” themselves? It seemed to be delivered in paper potato sacks in our house, at the time. Happy memories.

I remember staying at SIL one Christmas when my nephews were very young. We stayed up till 1am getting presents down from the attic and making it look like Santa and his elves visited. Then we were woken by SIL at 6am so she could film us all as the boys woke up and saw the presents. An hour and a half later she had to go upstairs and wake them. Had a nice nap after dinner that year. I am a proper grumpy Grinch if I don't get my 8 hours sleep.:rofl::rofl:

My mum had a colleague when I was 17? The colleague had a young kid & her bloke (the kid’s dad.) left her so my mum took her in with the child over Christmas. (Spare room was free.) I went round her house with my mum Christmas Eve & picked her up in my car on the other side of town sneaking the child’s presents in the back. New Year’s Eve her kid was asleep. The count down to a new year was looming. This woman 10 years older than me? after far too much to drink she made aggressive amorous advances in my direction. Much to the visible shock of my younger sister & her 2 friends looking on gobsmacked. I was more aware of their expressions than what this woman was doing.
