Towing my caravan

Ok I have got my new 3 year licence back from dvla and as expected they have removed my c class licence to be able to drive up to a 7.5 tonne vehicle.
All I am realy interested in if i can tow my caravan as i suspect with my tow vehicle and caravan loaded i am very close or even over 3.5 tons.
Is the 3.5 ton limit for the two combined or for just the tow vehicle.
