The nurse who helped Britain’s youngest organ donor save the life of a stranger has been honoured with a top gong.

Angharad Griffiths, 33, played a pivotal role in enabling little Teddy Houlston - born with a fatal condition - to donate his kidneys.

The Mirror revealed earlier this year how Teddy, who lived for just 100 minutes, saved the life of a stranger shortly after he lost his own fight for life.

He made medical history and his story made headlines around the world. Until Teddy’s gift of life, no-one had ever donated organs so young in the UK.

Ms Griffiths had to navigate complex medical and ethical obstacles in order to help Teddy’s family fulfil their wishes.
