I am far too thin with pancreasitis and it is getting very difficult to eat. For some reason i can eat sweet things but very little savoury. I make this smoothie type drink, could anyone tell me if it's worth while: ingredients;1. milk, bananas, sweetener, raw oats. Also could anyone give me any other smoothies to put weight on, especially sweet if pos, thanks, i hope this is the right forum.

Hi Haggis

We can't give medical advice as we are not qualified - we can simply give helpful (hopefully) hints from our own experience.

A number of members have had pancreatitis and hopefully one of them will be able to help.

I would suggest that you speak to your GP or diabetic clinic and ask for a referral to a specialist dietician who will be able to look at what you can and can't eat and then advise you on a suitable strategy for gaining weight

Hi haggis

Could you tell us about your meds and how pancreatitis has affected you ?

It sounds like the foods you can tolerate are the opposite of what you need to keep good BG control.

As Margie said, we can't give medical advice, but it sounds like you need some solid support.

I also support the suggestion to request an appointment with a specialist dietician, who might prescribe dietary supplements as well as suggesting foods.
