Another article from Aunty, this time about how meat may cause weight gain. High protein diets may not help dieters in the long run. I'm being told to eat 'some' protein with every meal by my doctor, and this says swap some of the protein for other foods. We can't win can we?

The team calculated that in people who ate the same number of calories, an extra 250g of meat a day - equal to a small steak - led to an additional weight gain of 2kg (5lbs) over five years.

The above quote is from the article. It is saying that if I eat an additional 1/2 lb steak every day for five years I will gain 5lbs! Rather less, I would think, that you would gain from 1/2 lb of chocolates every day. Personally I will dismiss this as irrlevant nonense!

High protein, low carb, low fat, high caffeine, low vegetable, high omega-3 etc.

Forget it all! Just eat a bit of everything, where you can! :D

But, it does occasionally lead to some interesting debate.

Andy 🙂
