does anyone get sugar spike when eating tomatoes, dont always have a whole one,but seems to affect me,i thought these were a good food to have ??

I wouldn't expect a tomato to affect my BG, it's quite low in carbs. could it be something you ate at the same time?
P.S. you title for this thread wasn't very helpful, something like Tomato Spike might get a better readsership.

Tomatoes are generally kind to me.

I haven't noticed a problem with tomatoes either, @brownie51, what sort of increase are you seeing?

p.s. changed title to 'Tomato spike', as suggested 🙂

oh ok
sorry quite new to this, havent got the hang of these posts yet

With an average 4 grams of carbs in a tomato, I'd be amazed if they were to blame for any spike and they're so good for us too.

I hope they do not cause a spike, I love snacking on them, when I beat the slugs to my home grown ones! 🙂

Eating about a low carb diet at one time tomoatoes were listed as a no no. That definitely put me off choosing that diet as I love them. I do count them in my carbs as they do spike me if not accounted for.

Low carb diets come in many different guises. I do low carb & allow tomatoes in my diet.

Exactly.
Low carb diet comes in different shapes and forms.
One thing is Atkins, but for instance mediterranean diet has normally lower carb if compared with standard eatwell-like diets.
Another thing to check is if there are some hidden sugars on starches in the food preparation
