Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi everyone. Well, I am dipping my toes in because like many people, I'm shy, timid, nervous and all that.
I've got type2 as well as other frailties
The main problem, again like a lot of people, I suffer chronic depression. And, one of the biggest issues with that is.... I find it very difficult to say everything I want to and its just as difficult to type it. But I have loads to say, and ask so we'll see if I can keep it up.
Enuff for now and stay as well as you can.

Welcome to the forum, you have done the right thing to come along as there are lots of people in your situation who will be only too willing to support you and answer any questions you have.
Just take one day at a time. If you are willing to share a bit more about your diabetes then people will be able to tailor their responses. How long have you been diagnosed, what was you HbA1C which gave you your diagnosis and are you on any medication for your diabetes. Sorry for all the questions but it does help people to give you appropriate advise.

Love the name @Toedipper 🙂 We are a friendly bunch here and only too happy to go at your pace. As @Leadinglights says,"one day at a time". Good to have you here with us 🙂

Hi @Toedipper and welcome
Yes, just take your time and read the boards as they contain a wealth of information. I'm still quite new here, but I am here a lot of the day, it is just a nice place to be. It really helps to be with others who fully understand what we are going through on a daily basis - and everyone was new once, be it to diabetes or the site 🙂 Take care

On the other hand, I'm old and been here ages - but want to assure you that no question you can possibly ask on here will be regarded as 'silly'. So - get asking!

Welcome to the forum @Toedipper

Make yourself at home and take things at your own pace. We are a friendly bunch, and want to help and support you with your diabetes.

Don’t feel like you have to share anything if you don’t want to, and participate as much or as little as helps you. We are all stumbling through our own diabetes stories, trying out best, learning new things every day (often as a result of the mistakes we make!).

Nobody’s perfect here, and we all ‘get it’. We know how fickle, wearying, frustrating, confusing, and annoying diabetes can be to live with.

Do you monitor your own BG levels? Quite a few folks like to check in with the ‘7 day waking average’ thread, and share little bits and pieces about their day.

Hi there, you have 100% done the right thing. I’m a fellow sufferer of anxiety/depression. I first started to suffer as a result of a really bad couple of years. Things were just getting better, then bang… diabetes. At home I’m very quiet about my situation and pretty much feel like nobody gets it therefor they can’t help me. However on here I relentlessly bang on and on, and in return I get tonnes off support. You can ask absolutely anything and day or night somebody will be here whenever your ready. Xx

Hi and welcome from me too.

I also struggle with anxiety and depression but this forum has helped me enormously in understanding diabetes and how I can best manage it, and I feel like I have made a few friends along the way. Ask questions at your own pace. We are here to support and help you when you are ready.
