Glaucoma pressure has increased to 20/21 despite three eye drops a day and previous surgeries. 22 is the level at which they usually do further intervention eg holes being lasered round the circumference of the eye, if appropriate, or surgery that can lead to sight loss. They did a scan in November which showed that the optic nerve in my right eye had worsened so they are repeating the scan for both eyes on May 30th when the pressure will be checked again and I will see the specialist herself. Feeling fed up. On the good side was told that the retinopathy is very mild

I'm so sorry that it wasn't the good news you longed for Amanda. Not surprised you feel fed up. I wish I had some better words to comfort or support you but I don't. Sending love your way and thinking of you.xx

Oh hun... (((((hugs))))). Stupid, flipping d... :( I guess at least when you see the specialist you'llbe able to ask all your questions & hopefully it's a good sign that they're prepared to leave things til the end of May? (((((hugs))))) again! Sending positive thoughts your way! Xxxxx

Sorry to hear this Amanda :( Let's hope that the glaucoma improves before your next check, try not to dwell on it if that's possible {{{Amanda}}}

sorry to hear this

I'm really sorry that you didn't get good news today. Thinking of you.

Thank you everyone. I'm shattered today so just going to rest and try to think about other things. Strange how you think about whether there is anything I should do in case I lose reasonable sight and the only thing you can think of is a round the world cruise but a) I would never leave Susie for more than two or three days and I'm reluctant to do even that at her age b) OH can't take that time off work c) I'm don't like deep water and I'm scared of flying. Oh well

(((((hug))))). I know what you mean!! :( I've got a bit of a 'sight bucket list'...just ticked off the first one (re-read War & Peace whilst I can still cope with small font 🙄). Hopefully neither of us will get to that stage though - hold on to the thought that the docs have still got a list of treatments to try & the techniques etc are constantly improving. Take it easy today love - pamper yourself, be kind to yourself. Xxx

Thanks Twitchy, it's so frustrating isn't it living in a kind of limbo not knowing what is going to happen to our sight. I can't read small font anymore but my Kindle enlarges the font. Buying a Kindle was the best thing I ever did after the macula damage in my left eye - it's great for both OU reading and chick lit🙂. I'm focused on doing nothing today whilst I get over the shock. Lots of daytime TV. I was meant to go out tonight but won't be good company so it's me, OH and Susie and some wine - a perfect evening when I'm feeling like this.🙂
