For lots of things,
Its the first day of our summer break so i seem to have organised everything for today.
First having hair done, then Daughter off on holiday with a friend.. she is only going to a haven camp so not worried!! much..

THEN...OMG Retinopathy at 4pm, got up early, drove OH to work so that i can drive to apt, he can meet me there and drive home. have sun glasses and hat. Is an eye test normally included? the woman on phone said that as i had eye test last year i don't need one, i think eyes have got worse since then though.

Puppy training at 7, hopefully eyes will be ok for then or ill be doing it in sunnies!

Will report back later.

Julie.. Very nervous x

hi julie good luck with eyes , when i had mine no eye test was included i just had to follow a red and green light but that was part of the retinopathy test i think

You don't get a normal eye test for the retinopathy, although they usually ask you to read off one of those charts. Normal eye-tests are usually every two years, but if you're worried book an appointment with an optician.

Good luck, hope you have a good day! I could see OK about 3 hours after, but still couldn't read or use computer - couldn't focus enough.

p.s. you forgot the moustache! 😉

Damn, was hoping that you hadn't noticed!

Good luck, Julie! 🙂

Good luck Julie,

I have only ever had the photo done at the retinopathy appointment. If you blood sugars have not been well controlled then it will affect your vision so usuallly best to hold off on getting any glasses or change in prescription.

Eye tests are not included in retinopathy screening. Some opticians will do the screening and an eye test as part of the same appointment.

I think the jury is out on how often you get an eye test. I was advised to go annually but some go every two years. Do whatever feels comfortable for you. If you are worried you can get your eyes checked at any time, but I was told you are only entitled to one free eye check a year.

Hi Julie,

Good Luck...:D

My optician always does an eye test as part of the retinopathy screening and it's all included 😱

Good Luck!
