It’s a gateway for diabetes
A portcullis to our health
Located in the lower face
With multifunctions for yourself
In different shapes and sizes
Up north but not down south
It’s our first line of defending
Below the nose, yes it’s your mouth
The things you’re putting in there
Are what can change your day
From feeling great to awful
Some entries make us pay
Your tastebuds crave attention
They only care for taste
Not bothered for unhealthy
They can fully load your waist
Set your mind to caution
It knows if things are wrong
Listen to good reason
Don’t listen to your tongue
Your portcullis of diabetes
Is the initial entry point
Too much carbs and sugar
Are affecting every joint
Help yourself, control it
You’re the key to the gateway lock
You have the power to do this
So give it all you’ve got
